Combining a spirit of adventure with the Aston Martin principles of beauty, luxury and driving dynamics, this is an SUV like no other.

As the brand's signature SUV, the DBX is built on a whole new architecture to offer a practical and comfortable space for all occupants. The most family-friendly Aston Martin yet, as well as comfortably and stylishly seating five, it has an impressive 632-litre boot. Plus, as the rear seats fold in the most versatile 40:20:40 layout it can adapt to suit a multitude of requirements.

From the front, the DBX has a traditional Aston Martin look thanks to its distinctive front grille and exquisite headlights. Styling at the back, meanwhile, is heavily influenced by the Vantage coupé thanks to a kicked-up ‘duck-tail’ integrated spoiler and slim wrap-over brake light bar.

At over five metres long and more than two metres wide, it is set to take on rivals like the Range Rover and Bentley Bentayga. Such large vehicles usually come with compromises in driving dynamics, which is why Aston Martin has been keen to keep the weight ratio lower by implementing a lightweight yet strong bonded aluminium construction.

Far from just being a pretty face, the Aston Martin has also been equipped to tackle changing terrain.

Its Active all-wheel drive system with variable torque distribution and height-adjustable suspension enables a go-anywhere approach. The air suspension can raise or lower the car through 45mm (upwards) or 50mm (downwards). This is backed up by adaptive damping and a new 48-volt active anti-roll system that work together to ensure that even in challenging conditions comfort is never compromised.

Power, meanwhile, comes from the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine found in the Aston Martin Vantage and DB11. Delivering 500hp with 700Nm, it has a top speed of 181mph, while 0-62mph is capable in just 4.5 seconds.

Proving the DBX is still very much an Aston Martin, considerable work has gone into enhancing aerodynamics. The front daytime running lights, for example, are part of a built-in air duct that exists behind the wheel arch to enhance airflow. At the rear, the aero package works to increase sonic comfort in the cabin and improve straight-line performance.

By combining these technologies, Aston Martin has managed to enhance the performance while delivering the driving dynamics you’d expect.

The DBX's interior offers the exquisite detailing and quality Aston Martin is known for. A panoramic sunroof provides a sense of airiness and space, while the commanding driving position instils a sense of confidence as well as delivering a clear view of the road ahead.

Packing in the latest technology and superior luxury there is never a dull moment behind the wheel. What’s more, you can be confident the DBX has all the qualities you’ve come to expect from Aston Martin.

You can choose from a wealth of interior styling options. As well as three different grades of leather, the DBX is available with a woven wool option - a first for any production road car. These opulent upholstery options can be combined with a choice of seven dashboard veneers, with options ranging from a contemporary wood finish to lightweight carbon fibre and a natural flax composite.

In addition, you can choose from a range of convenience boosting packs. For example, the pet package includes a handy portable washer, while the snow package includes comforting boot warmers.

Dr Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin, said the:

“DBX is a car that will give many people their first experience of Aston Martin ownership. As such, it needed to be true to the core values established in our sports cars, while also providing the lifestyle versatility expected of a luxury SUV. To have produced such a beautiful, hand built, yet technologically advanced car is a proud moment for Aston Martin.”

“Through its development alone, this beautiful SUV has already taken the company into new territories and in inspiring directions. DBX also marks a key moment in the delivery of the third and final phase of our Second Century Plan, not only representing the promised expansion of our portfolio but also signalling the start of production at Aston Martin's second manufacturing plant.”

The first 500 DBX models will come with a special ‘1913’ package. This includes a unique front wing badge, sill plaques and an inspection plaque detailing the limited build-run. What's more, each of the first examples will be personally endorsed and inspected by CEO Dr Palmer himself and come with a unique build-book signed by both Dr Palmer and Aston Martin’s Chief Executive Officer, Marek Reichmann.

The first deliveries are expected to arrive in the second half of 2020, so it won’t be long before you can get behind the wheel of this exquisite SUV from Aston Martin.
