The new Vantage F1 Edition features bespoke styling and mechanical upgrades that mirror those used on the Vantage F1 safety car, which will make its debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix later this month. It is also the first model to benefit from the input of Aston Martin’s new Chief Executive Officer, Tobias Moers.
In a bid to ensure the Vantage F1 Edition can keep pace with cars on the track, power from the four-litre twin-turbo V8 engine is up from 503bhp available on the original Vantage to 528bhp. Torque remains the same at 505lb-ft., although the output is sustained for longer, which helps enhance tractability and in-gear urgency. Plus thanks to modifications to the eight-speed automatic transmission you can enjoy quicker shift times and improved powertrain control during braking and deceleration.
Meanwhile, a substantial aerodynamics package helps to boosts downforce by 200kg at top speeds. Facilitating this is a full-width front splitter, front dive planes, underbody turning vanes, and the most striking feature, a brand new rear wing. The rear diffuser remains unchanged from the standard Vantage but remains a core feature in helping to do its bit to improve the overall aerodynamic performance.
Underneath the Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition gains chassis reinforcements at the front end to improve stiffness. Meanwhile, stiffer rear springs, which help sharpen turn-in, increase traction and ensure the rear-end complements the front-end’s rate of response.
On top of this, the Vantage Formula 1 model also comes with upgraded dampers to improve vertical body control and a tweaked steering system that helps to boost feedback. The overall dynamic upgrades make it is easy to see the vast handling improvements available.
The new Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition will be available in both coupé and drop-top guises, giving you the freedom to choose the best model for your needs. Whichever model you choose, you can rest-assured that is easily distinguishable from the regular Vantage thanks to larger 21-inch alloy wheels with a bespoke design and low-profile tyres.
The low profile tyres not only look great but also provide better driver feedback and help ensure progressive handling for maximum confidence. Further styling which helps set the new model apart include 2x2 Twill Carbon Fibre exterior detailing, quad exhausts and a unique vaned grilled as standard.
A brand new shade of Racing Green inspired by the F1 Team’s racing livery is sure to appeal to those looking for the full F1 effect. However, standard colours including black and white are also available. In addition, you can specify the Vantage F1 edition in either a satin or gloss finish.
You can get your first look at this dynamic new model at the Bahrain Grand Prix at the end of the month. However, if you are keen to experience the road version of the Vantage F1 Edition for yourself you do not have long to wait as deliveries will get underway from May.
